Take a gander at this video for a new song called Who’s Fooling Who that we recorded and filmed at the Cameron House in Toronto in the fall of 2013. Thank you to Gaelle Legrand for the lovely film treatment!

I’m thrilled to let you that we started recording my new album this weekend and it’s sounding fantastic, if I do say so myself. Can’t wait for you to hear it. Lots more piano on this album.
In the meantime, if you’re in Toronto, remember to come by the Cameron House on Friday nights 8-10pm where I play with my full band and you can hear some of the new tunes in the flesh.
You should come to this.

7. While it seems like it would take more energy to type it than the amount of energy someone implies they possess, I suppose it is worth letting everyone you know that, well, “ugh”

For anyone who thought Willie Nelson was a country musician. He’s just a musician.
There are a few new gigs posted on my shows page including some fun festivals happening this summer. Like the LabCab Festival in Toronto’s Parkdale neighbourhood. Or how about the Flower City Festival in beautiful Brampton? Let’s not forget about La Belle Éparkdale — a wonderful series of concerts put together by my talented friends, fiddler Miranda Mulholland and food & wine enthusiast Krysta Oben. I’ll be performing in a vintage shoppe called Mrs. Huizenga! And of course I will be playing my regular Friday night residency at Toronto’s Cameron House, 8-10pm. More shows coming soon!
I’ve started working on a new album and thought I’d share part of the process. Here is a demo for a new song called Tough Love. We recorded it in a garage! Enjoy. More to come…
I’m pleased to announce I will play at Toronto’s Legendary Horseshoe Tavern under my own name for the first time on Thursday, May 23. I will be opening for American troubadour Richard Buckner and Toronto’s own poetic, country misfit NQ Arbuckle. You should come. Really.
Hey everybody!
I’ve been squirreled away in a squirrel cave working on new material for, oh, I don’t know, about 4 years now. Let’s be honest, I was having a hard time getting out what I wanted to say. Sometimes I was saying things [read: writing songs] but they weren’t quite what I wanted to be giving to the world. Well, the tide has changed. Songwriting is feeling good and I’m riding a wave of some sort. I’ve got a great new band together and we are starting to play many of these songs at our weekly residency on Friday nights 8–10 at Toronto’s Cameron House. That being said, we won’t be playing there this week, Friday, May 3rd. I’ll save you the details but let’s just say we will see you on Friday, May 10th, riiiiight?
